Groundswell, the annual regenerative agriculture festival, is a favourite among the Terrafarmer team
It’s not simply because Groundswell Festival is now one of the most relevant and pioneering events on the contemporary farming calendar. It’s also because Terrafarmer was quietly launched exactly one year ago at Groundswell 2022!
One year on…
So much has happened in the space of 12 months, including acquiring Precision Decisions and securing significant long-term investment to help us grow and develop over the next five years—and beyond. Terrafarmer is also now the UK’s sole distributor of Wintex Agro professional soil sampling equipment, supplying complete rigs and sampling units, as well as genuine spare parts, repairs, and full servicing of Wintex Agro equipment to clients right across the country.
Our farm client base
But there are so many other things to celebrate. One of our key priorities over the last 12 months has been to expand our client base, providing existing and new clients with sector-leading services and impartial advice and guidance and supporting them on their regenerative journey at every step. We are only too aware that there is no sustainability in a farm that loses money, and we are proud to say that we are exceeding client expectations for soil health and carbon sequestration goals across the board. Supporting farm clusters
As well as growing our farm business client base, we have been supporting various major land-related businesses (including Southern Water), land use and conservation organisations (such as the South Downs National Park Authority), and other NGOs by providing baseline soil assessments and subsequent consultancy advice for clusters of the farmers they work with, helping them to adopt farming practices that not only protect the local environment but increase biodiversity above and below the ground—and improve business resilience, too.
Farm trials
We do not just talk the talk. As farm consultants and practicing farmers ourselves, we are actively involved in various farm trials on our home farms – including biological input trials for potentially ground-breaking new products and specific regenerative practices that will further support farmers to produce food in a sustainable way – to ensure we remain at the forefront of soil science and applied agricultural technologies.
