Interest in precision farming and soil sampling is booming, says Terrafarmer’s Ryan Brazier
Terrafarmer’s workshop has been extremely busy this year, repairing and servicing ATVs and hydraulic soil samplers, as well as setting up new rigs. In fact, we’ve never been busier!

While I would like to think it’s all down to the high-quality services that we offer, what we are actually seeing is a real surge of interest in precision farming and precision soil sampling across the UK.
The Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) is a driving factor and we are seeing increasing demand for precision soil sampling, as well as a higher number of multi-depth sampling and bulk density jobs coming our way.
More farmers are also exploring regenerative agriculture and looking at improving soil structure and health as a way to reduce inputs and improve yields and profit margins. Understanding your starting point and measuring and monitoring the impact of any changes in practices over time is essential to demonstrate progress and that’s where precision soil sampling can pay dividends.
A surge in interest
It feels like every man and their dog wants to do soil sampling at the moment! With so much land to cover, there’s no better or more efficient way to cover it than using a Wintex Agro hydraulic soil sampler mounted on an ATV/UTV.
If you’re wondering ‘what is the best hydraulic soil sampler for an ATV?’, Wintex Agro soil samplers are the best there is. It’s why we use them on the Terrafarmer ATV fleet.

Hand sampling vs Wintex
In terms of efficiency, the difference between taking samples by hand or using a Wintex Agro hydraulic soil sampler is obvious.
Yes, you could rush around on a quad bike and take hand samples across 130 ha on Monday. But would you be able to continue with that same level of performance on Tuesday? Or Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday?!
We’re only human after all and productivity falls dramatically after a long day using a hand probe.
A Wintex Agro hydraulic soil sampler, however, will never feel tired or suffer aches and pains after a long day’s sampling. Mounted on a modern ATV, you’ll also stay warm and dry warm!
If you are looking to fit a Wintex 1000, Wintex 2000, or Wintex 3000 hydraulic soil sampler to your existing ATV, or you want to buy a complete new rig, we can help.

We have you covered
Terrafarmer is proud to be the UK’s only approved agent for the supply, servicing, and spare parts for all Wintex Agro soil samplers.
We can supply hydraulic soil sampling units and complete rigs, as well as genuine spare parts, repairs, and servicing. Our engineers are fully trained by Wintex Agro, with experience in building complete hydraulic soil sampler rigs on Kubota, Honda, Suzuki, CANAM, John Deere, and many other vehicles for customers across the UK. We can also fit Wintex hydraulic soil sampling equipment on your existing vehicles.
Whether you are looking to establish a regular servicing and maintenance schedule for your Wintex Agro soil sampling equipment, or you urgently need a spare part posted out to get you back in action, we can help.
